It may seem strange to refuse "offer" from Microsoft for Windows 10, but the truth is that upgrading to the new operating system may bring some problems for some users, especially in the Application Compatibility Question businesses.

Android with internet from the PC via USB

Posted by Salman Khaja
It 's been three years that I am user of Android and throughout this time, testing numerous ROMs, applications, software , etc. They had only two resources that I really missed the Android over other mobile systems. One of these features was the remote access to the Android smarthphone through a common PC . But the other feature missing took a little more time ... So ... I recently had the good fortune to find a solution to that one feature that I missed: Access the internet on Android via the PC, just by connecting to a USB port .

The archaic Windows Mobile was doing it long ago, and today I present to all a Reverse tethering method (possibility of having Internet on the mobile device via the computer)   fully functional, allowing us to have internet on Android without using Wifi or 3G only sharing the PC via USB connection. Easy and simple!

Note: To succeed in connection sharing, Android device needs to have superuser powers; in other words, you must have root privileges.

Items required to perform Reverse tethering on Android:

  1. Android device (version 1.5 / 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 / 2.3 / 3.0 / 3.1 / 4.0 / 4.1)
  2. Windows XP / Vista / 7/8 /8.1 +
  3. Drivers from your Android device to Windows (Only some models)
  4. USB cable

Steps:

  • Enable USB debugging:  On Android go to Settings >> Developer Options >>> USB Debugging.
  • Taking into consideration that your Android is already Root privileges, access the settings for your application root ( SuperUser or SuperSU ) and disable the notification option to not be notified.
  • Now go to a Windows PC and download the ReverseTethering application ( download at the end of post ) extract the contents and run the file AndroidTool.exe. If you have problems, install the applications (APK's) contained in the folder. Following choose which DNS is assigned to the Android and then click Connect .

  • Depending on the application settings Root intalled on your Android, you may see some notification to the pemissões be to the tethering service.  After permission accepted, see the magic happens,
  • Finally we can stop the internet sharing service for Android or by the software AndroidTool on PC.

As noted above, the facilities and possibilities that this tool provides us are immense. Both navigation as the connection speed is very good and leave nothing to be desired.

With this method we can use the internet on our Android without having a wireless network nearby, not to mention the cost savings of your 3G data plan / 2G etc.

Finally confirm that the best of the whole process itself, is the ability to navigate the internet via a USB connection on the PC while the battery is also charged!

Operating Systems: Windows XP / Vista / 7/8 [x86 / x64] Download: AndroidTool.exe

Thank you.
